The Trailhouse

Our
Story

Okay, fine. You caught me. This page isn’t a test… but it is the beginning of something special.

I first came to Taylors Falls in 2018. I was just looking for a peaceful hike — a break from the Twin Cities, a chance to trade noise for pine trees and river air. But this town had a way of pulling me in. Every visit left me more grounded, more curious, more at home.

At first, it was just a ritual. A weekend here, a trail there, a quiet “what if” every time I passed a place tucked into the bluffs. I wasn’t planning to buy a house. And I certainly wasn’t planning to build a retreat. But then again, not everything meaningful in life comes from a plan.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

Breathe in the quiet.

Let the trees remind you that rest is part of growth too.

The Trailhouse at Serendipity came together slowly, and a little magically. I found a home that felt like it had been waiting — for stories, for guests, for trail dust at the door and coffee on the porch. Piece by piece, I made it mine. Not by design, but by instinct. Accidentally on purpose.

This isn’t just a rental to me. It’s a real home — one I spend a lot of time in myself. I work here, rest here, drink coffee on the deck, enjoy the sunset from the sunset rooms, and wake up to the sound of wind in the trees. So when you stay here, you’re not just stepping into a vacation property — you’re sharing a space that’s truly lived in, loved, and cared for.

The gallery wall in the living room showcases photographs from my travels. While artwork on the stairs is my love for the airplanes and the serene beauty of blue skies. The bears, while seemingly unrelated, contribute to the overall harmony of the space. Each aspect of the house reflects a fragment of my identity, creating a welcoming environment that accommodates the unique qualities of your presence.

Whether you’re here for a friend's get-together, wedding, a family getaway, or a solo reset, I hope The Trailhouse wraps around you the way it has for me.

That’s the magic of serendipity.

Thanks for being part of the story.
